Embrace Your Wild: Holistic Healing for Mujeres on a Journey
Mar 21, 2024Do you need therapy, coaching, or something else?
This week I'm sharing about holistic ways of healing, as I've encountered so many mujeres over the years who are curious on what to do to heal, and how to get started or deepen their practices.
As someone who has made it her personal mission to heal her mind, body, spirit and empower all that she is, I've experimented with many types of healing modalities and approaches.
Below I list out some major typical hitters to help get you started, and at the end, I talk about Holistic Executive Coaching and why that's a gem of an investment when you're ready to level up your success and thriving. The inner work is an integral part of your outward elevation, so if your outside isn't matching your internal vision, look within and figure out what's blocking you and what help you need.
Okay, here we go:
-
Therapy and Counseling: The most typical approach to healing. A therapist can help you explore and heal your identities related to race, gender, and overall self-esteem. Therapy can provide a safe space to explore and unpack internalized beliefs and traumas, and to develop coping strategies and tools for healing and basic self-care.
-
Community and Support Groups: Connect with communities of mujeres who share similar experiences and identities. Sharing stories, struggles, and triumphs with others who understand can be incredibly validating and empowering.
-
Education and Awareness: Engage in ongoing learning about systemic racism, sexism, and other forms of oppression. This could include reading books, attending workshops or seminars, and listening to podcasts or lectures by marginalized voices.
-
Mindfulness and Meditation: Practice mindfulness and meditation to cultivate self-awareness, compassion, and acceptance. Mindfulness techniques can help you observe and challenge negative thought patterns and develop a deeper connection with yourself.
-
Cultural Reconnection: Explore and celebrate your cultural heritage. Engage in activities, traditions, and practices that connect you to your roots and strengthen your sense of identity and belonging.
-
Creative Expression: Use creative outlets such as writing, art, music, or dance to express yourself and explore your emotions. Creativity can be a powerful tool for healing, self-discovery, and empowerment.
-
Physical Health: Prioritize your physical health by engaging in regular exercise, eating nourishing foods, and getting enough rest. Taking care of your body can positively impact your mental and emotional well-being.
-
Social Activism and Advocacy: Get involved in social justice movements and advocacy efforts that align with your values. Taking action to address systemic inequalities can empower you and contribute to broader social change.
-
Self-Compassion and Self-Love: Practice self-compassion and self-love by treating yourself with kindness, patience, and understanding. Challenge the critical inner voice and cultivate a positive and supportive relationship with yourself.
-
Spiritual Exploration: Explore practices and beliefs that resonate with your spiritual or philosophical outlook. This could include meditation, prayer, yoga, or connecting with nature. Find what brings you a sense of peace, purpose, and connection to something greater than yourself.
