A Calendar that Honors My Life Through Chakras, Cycles, & the Seasons

the body is a portal Apr 23, 2025

1 The Scene

When I left corporate, I was clear on one thing—I didn’t want to bring the 40-hour workweek with me.

I had zero desire to replicate the same structure that burned me out, boxed me in, and left me counting down to the weekend.

But what I didn’t know was what to build instead.

With no partner, no kids, and no family nearby, I had complete freedom. Carte blanche.

And while that sounds like a dream (and in many ways, it is), I was also overwhelmed. I had no map.

No bells telling me when to eat, rest, work, or stop.

Just me and my intuition… which at the time, felt rusty from years of outsourcing my rhythm.

I didn’t want a life where Monday was a curse and Sunday came with dread.

I wanted every day to feel like an opportunity for learning, pleasure, and expansion.

I wanted to integrate rest and radiance, sacred structure and spontaneity, and let my days reflect my body’s truth, not someone else's deadlines.

And so, little by little, I started experimenting.

2 The Wisdom

Early in 2024, I began by carving out what I now call my Queen’s Week—a sacred 7–9 day window each month that gave me space to unplug, explore, and reconnect. No rules. Just presence.

It began intuitively, often starting on the 27th (my birthday and a sacred number in my lineage), and gave me a soft landing for creation, restoration, or travel.

But by the time I stood under the total solar eclipse in Dallas in spring 2024, I knew I wanted to live even more in rhythm with the cosmos. Nature wasn’t just background beauty—it was a blueprint.

I started layering in more dimensions:

The Inner + Outer Cycles I Now Honor:

  • Chakras & Days of the Week: Each day aligns with a chakra and a celestial energy. This gives a vibrational tone to my days (more on that below).

  • The Moon Phases: For those with wombs or without, the moon offers a reliable mirror of energetic ebbs and flows.

  • My Menstrual Cycle: I structure my work based on my inner seasons—Spring (Follicular), Summer (Ovulation), Autumn (Luteal), and Winter (Menstruation).

  • The Solar Seasons: Each solstice and equinox invites a shift in energy. I tune my priorities accordingly.

  • The Monthly Calendar: With each new moon, I revisit intentions, and with each full moon, I reflect and release.

This isn’t about perfection. It’s about attunement. When I align with these natural rhythms, I don’t just do more—I feel more whole. My creativity flows. My body rests. My ideas land.

🌿 If you don’t have a menstrual cycle, the moon can become your guide:

  • 🌑 New Moon (Menstrual/Winter) – Rest, vision, inward reflection

  • 🌓 First Quarter (Follicular/Spring) – Plan, initiate, brainstorm

  • 🌕 Full Moon (Ovulation/Summer) – Launch, teach, socialize

  • 🌗 Last Quarter (Luteal/Autumn) – Edit, complete, release

Why does this matter?
Because the linear model of productivity we inherited is not only unnatural—it’s unsustainable. Living cyclically is an act of reclamation. Of self, spirit, and sanity.

3 The Embodiment

Let me show you how this lives off the vision board and into my daily reality.

I use a mix of tools:

  • A whiteboard (my weekly sacred map)

  • An erasable wall calendar (for moon phases + cycle tracking)

  • A digital calendar (to share with collaborators)

  • And a paper planner (for reflection and rituals)

My Weekly Structure:

Each Sunday (Solar Plexus Day), I begin with a ritual download:
I journal what happened that week, what synchronicities appeared, and how I’m feeling energetically.

On my whiteboard, I track 4 key areas:

  1. Monthly Intentions (3 max) – clear, soulful goals

  2. Business Moves & Connections – aligned actions + collabs

  3. Compliments, Magic & Gratitude – witnessing the gain

  4. Creative Space & Queenstorming – ideas, visions, sparks

This keeps me tuned in—not just to my tasks, but to the meaning behind them. I’m not just “busy.” I’m witnessing my growth and co-creation in real time.

At the end of the month, I do a deeper reflection in my paper planner. I note:

  • What I did, what I created, how I felt, what patterns or nudges keep repeating

It’s a living dialogue with myself.

Color Coding My Inner Seasons:

To anchor in my cycle, I use colors on my whiteboard:

  • 🟢 Green = Spring (Follicular) – I’m open, playful, strategic

  • 🟡 Yellow = Summer (Ovulation) – I’m magnetic, social, expressive

  • 🟤 Brown = Autumn (Luteal) – I’m focused, refining, discerning

  • 🔴 Red = Winter (Menstrual) – I’m resting, dreaming, integrating

Each week gets a little dot of that color. That way, I can see at a glance how to honor my energy—whether that means launching something or just breathing deeply and canceling a call.

Daily Chakra Coding:

Each day of the week carries an energy and chakra, which helps me choose tasks and rituals that support my body + creativity:

  • Sunday = Solar Plexus (🟡) → Confidence, visioning, reflection

  • Monday = Sacral (🟠) → Flow, emotion, nourishment

  • Tuesday = Root (🔴) → Grounding, finances, stability

  • Wednesday = Throat (🔵) → Communication, writing, teaching

  • Thursday = Third Eye (🔷) → Intuition, vision, clarity

  • Friday = Heart (🟢) → Connection, love, community

  • Saturday = Crown (🟣) → Rest, spirit, integration

By aligning my work with the energy of each day, I don’t force myself to do something that feels off.

I co-create with my body and the cosmos.

Your Turn: Application

I hope this gave you a glimpse into what’s possible when we trade hustle for harmony. When we let our calendars be reflections of our soul—not someone else’s structure.

Whether you’re rebuilding your life post-corporate or simply looking for a way to make your days feel more you, I invite you to start slow. Pick one layer. One ritual. One dot of color.

And if you have your own way of syncing with the seasons or your body, I’d love to hear it.
